This DIY is quick, easy, fun and cheap.  What could be better!?

If you have any windows in your home or apartment where you want the natural light but need a little privacy, this is a truly lovely solution.

Granted, it is a bit feminine but I am wondering how we can use this idea and make it masculine, as well…

  3. I did this years ago with good but thinish fabric, using liquid starch and you can cover wastebaskets, lampshades and whatever, even walls or partial ones. Just pull starting at one corner to remove and wash off. This would work well for door windows.

      Would you say the corn starch washes off easily if down the line you decide to remove it? Been thinking about doing something similar to the lower window of our sidedoor.

    how about those plastic net bags onions and fruit comes in some are little square ..i think some taters comes in them too…u could cut them into retangels easily…

  17. they forgot to mention that this needs to be done on the interior of the window- and yes, a nice sheer in any color works great- tends to give a stained glass effect if colored…

    Some tween-targeted store used to cover the walls in their dressing rooms with overlapping sheets of different colors of what looked like tissue paper…I always wanted to try that somehow. Maybe tissue paper wouldn’t be too feminine?

  25. you can also do this to walls when you rent an apt. but they have to be semi gloss painted….flat paint not so good lol

  37. Wish I had known about this when I was an adolescent. I used to paint with tempera paint on my bedroom windows to do the same kind of thing.
