Can I say that I wish I’d heard of this one years ago. We have french doors that lead out of our bedroom to a back patio, and I put up lace sheers under the drapes for privacy. Within a few months the dogs had ruined them while scratching to let us know they wanted to go out. THIS I can do and enjoy both the light without shredded lace! AND I bet I can reuse most of the lace curtains too.

  9. I wonder how this would work in the NW where windows often have moisture on them…

For people who live in apartments and can’t hang wallpaper or paint walls, you can do a version of this. You can use fabric softener and material. Just cut material in the lengths you need to cover a wall, soak the material fabric softener and hang the material on the wall just like you would wallpaper. Let dry. When you get ready to move, you can peal the material off, wash the wall and wall-la! The “wallpaper” is gone and the wall looks the same as before you hung the “wallpaper”.

  13. Do we have instructions for mixing the cornstarch.

  14. Does anyone remember in the 60’s painting a window with a liquid glass cleaner that crystallized and looked like frosted windows.? I saw this at Christmas time in a restraunt in southern California. What did they use?

    • Karen says:

That was a product called Glass Wax. I don’t know if they make it anymore.

    • Marie says:

beer painted on windows looks frosted when dry maybe with glass cleaner try diff things maybe corn starch

    • Debi Clayton says:

I believe you can still buy the kind of glaze that makes glass look that way at Hobby Lobby, Michael’s. Most large craft stores would probably carry stuff like that. It makes your glass look “crazed” and/or “frosted”.

  15. Blue Cogan says:

Might not be a bad idea, Franklin destroys every new bling put up

  24. The directions say……let dry. But it doesn’t say pull the lace off. Does the lace stay affixed to the window? I thought it was a stencil so then it should say remove the lace.
