It's WISE to DIY: Thrify Ideas for the Do-It-Yourselfer

You Won’t Believe What They Made Entirely Out Of Pallets!

Here is a pallet project I never would have dreamed of creating.

If you have ever had a quote on how much it costs to build a wooden deck or any type of hardscaping, then you know how many zeros we are talking about.

This family has gone around the system, beyond what I ever thought was possible with reclaimed pallets.  This patio/deck that they have created is a summer dream!! (And with a heat lamp or two, it is a wonderful outdoor winter space, too.)

What I like about this is all it really needs is pallets.  Everything else just speeds it up or makes it nicer.  You can take this idea and start small, and grow it little by little.

I use wooden pallets at work and it’s nothing to have 2400 lbs. sitting on one.

  6. I might be the only one, but I didn’t think this was a beautiful backyard escape! Nothing stood out as escape! It stood out as I couldn’t afford anything else.

  7. @[100003963815591:2048:Jim Leibbrand], this is your backyard project. I know you could do something like this once your ground is leveled.

  10. Great, but where do you get all the pallets?

  11. Domenick Corigliano says:

Looks great and good idea, only one problem. You need to treat the wood otherwise it’s going to rot away fast. Pine wood is cheap.

  12. they are s$#%&!@*y hard wood I made a picket fence for my front yard n hey are hard to put a nail into have to pre drill hole 1st..but it turned out nice

  13. Richard Linn says:

Where did they steal the Pallets of all the same size, since all pallets are marked to return to the shippers?

    • candy says:

no they are not my work throws them out hundreds at a time. u dont have to steal them companys beg you to take them crates are marked to return but cheap wood pallets are not

    • Dan Coyne says:

not true. the only ones that HAVE to be returned are blue. (used to work for a place that makes them. thye would have to be marked as such and 9 out of 10 times.. its only the blue ones.

    • Michelle Cusick says:

I’ve never seen any pallets that are marked this way. we’ve gotten pallets from so many local places.

  14. I would NOT walk across that. I have a permanent foot injury that required surgery and put me in a wheelchair for months from walking across a pallet that broke with me.

  15. my son did this ,It works

  16. Sorry, but I think it’s ugly. 🙁

  17. I would not like this my yard….or any of my neighbor’s yards.

    • renee says:

who the hell cares what you do or don’t want in your NEIGHBOUR’S yard. I bet you are the old lady that calls the city on them because their grass is an inch too high…

  18. I’m sorry. Really. Thats just butt ugly.

  19. WoW! How creative I saw it when it was done very nice! Ive made things with pallets never saw one spider last a long time what ever you make out of them. Im so happy(sorry) for all the people who spend loads of money on expensive wood what a waste.

  20. I just made a bench and a table>>>

  21. Lois Bunting says:

  32. @[1411227529:2048:Patty Cody] here ya go

  33. Making ‘everything’ out of pallets was a bit much – need to pretty it up with some non-pallet furniture. I’m all for the deck being made of pallets …

  35. We made a outhouse with pallets, a small one it got pretty cute!

  36. Amanda Brown says:

I have this in my back yard

  37. I would like to know WHERE everyone gets their pallets .. lol

  38. Shelley says:

You can buy pallets. There are places that sell nothing but pallets of all different sizes. Many companies through the pallets away, so they will give them to you. I put a deck on my camper for the summer made of pallets with plywood across the top so chairs don’t slide through the slats.
