It's WISE to DIY: Thrify Ideas for the Do-It-Yourselfer

These 3 Items Make A Dynamite Version Of A Top Seller From West-Elm

Can you tell which one is store-bought at West Elm for $150?

1-ST

They are both so pretty, who even cares!

According to brit, here is all you need to do to make the one on the right:

Materials:

– IKEA Hasselnöt Planter
– IKEA Blanda Blank Serving Bowl
– a wood disc that will act as a lid for your bowl (I had one custom cut at from Woodcrafter for about $20)

Note: Make sure you get your wood cut about 1/4″ larger than the circumference of the top of the bowl so you have space to glue.

Tools:

– superglue
– gold spray paint

Instructions:

1. Spray paint the wood disc, planter + serving bowl. Let dry for at least two hours before handling.

2. Superglue the bowl onto the bottom of the planter and the wood circle onto the top of the bowl.

Be sure to prime your surfaces and even use a spray paint for metal on the salad bowl.

So pretty!!  Not to mention, expensive-looking.
