It's WISE to DIY: Thrify Ideas for the Do-It-Yourselfer

The Best And LAZIEST Way To Clean Your Silver – Tarnish Disappears Before Your Eyes!

Silver can be a hassle because whether it is jewelry or fine silverware or serving dishes, these are items that we do not use everyday.  So, we put them away, and then when we take them out for use, they are so tarnished that they look terrible and who has time to polish all that silver Downton Abbey-style?  I certainly don’t.

So here is an amazingly effective, quick and easy way to clean that silver with no elbow-grease (and isn’t that the best part?).

Get these supplies together:

Materials:
• Aluminum foil
• Glass dish or aluminum baking dish
• 1 cup boiling water
• 1 tablespoon baking soda
• 1 tablespoon sea salt
• 1/2 cup white vinegar  (you can omit this ingredient but vinegar speeds up the process)
• Rag for polishing
• Tongs to remove silverware from boiling water

The secret here is the aluminum foil.  The hot water, baking soda and vinegar will create a chemical reaction where the tarnish will transfer from the silver to the foil.  So, if you use a foil baking dish, you do not need additional aluminum foil.  But if you do this in a glass dish, you need to line it completely with the foil.
