It's WISE to DIY: Thrify Ideas for the Do-It-Yourselfer

Stunning $128 Anthropologie Drawer Pulls For About 5 Bucks Each!

Materials:

  • One chunk of pyrite (aka “Fools Gold”).  You can search eBay for these, you can find them for about $5 each.
  • Quick-set epoxy glue.
  • Screws  (These are a good length and width.)
  • A bowl of rice or beans

Directions:

  • Pour put the two sides of the epoxy glue and mix.
  • Put a liberal amount of the glue on what you want to be the back of your pyrite rock.
  • Hold it in place until it sets.  This will take about 5 minutes so you might want to put on your favorite show before you start.
  • Once it feels a bit set, you can rest it upside down (screw side up) in the bowl of lentils.  Like so:

  • Repeat this process on the other chunks of pyrite till they are all done and let them sit for 24 hours.
  • Next step is screwing them in the drawer!

If you haven’t figured it out by now, with this technique you can actually make drawer pulls out of pretty much anything.

What’s your favorite thing to buy at Anthropologie?  Is there anything you wish you could make yourself?  Let us know and if we can find out how, we will post it for you!
