It's WISE to DIY: Thrify Ideas for the Do-It-Yourselfer

She Cuts A Heart Out Of This Non-Slip Mat and Then Makes Something ADORABLE!!

I recognized the kind of non-slip mat she uses in this craft because it is the same kind  of mat that I use to line all my kitchen shelves and drawers.

I have never seen anyone craft with this stuff but when I saw what she made, I was SO IMPRESSED!

This is a simple craft that is perfect to do while you watch your favorite show.  Check it out on the next page…

Did someone think my comment was negative? I don’t. I read and re-read my comment. I was only making a mere suggestion that came to mind as I watched it. It’s not negative. Just expanding on a creative thought.

  15. Sher Stookey says:

Yes, I guess they have some at the dollar store because my daughter gave me one and that appears to be exactly what it is.

  16. Sher Stookey. No i think everyone agrees with you.

Heather Chapman I just noticed a comment a couple down from mine and wondered if it was being directed at me? I thought just saying that was in my opinion negative. 😀

  18. They must have deleted it. I can’t see it.

  19. Sher Stookey says:

Heather Chapman No, it starts out..If you are crafty. Perhaps it is directed at the person making the comment about the size but even her comment is not negative. I guess I am being paranoid and overthinking it. 😀

  20. Very cute… good project for a child around 10 or 11!

  21. That’s a lot of work.

  22. Jane Burrell says:

I wouldn’t recommend machine washing them. People have told me that it rips up a latch hook rug. I would use longer, thinner strips and use a latch hook. It would take longer to cut up the fabric but would look nice. Also, if your just going to hang it on the wall, you can get latch hook material like at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby that would probably be easier since the spaces are bigger.

  23. Jane Burrell says:

The latch hook material would be for the base instead of that non-stick stuff.

  24. JoLynnza Skinner, lets make this!

THIS IS A FAKE POST…TRIED THREE DIFF TIMES TO GET TO SEE IT, BUT EACH GARBAGY THING TAKES U TO SOME OTHER STORY.
I HATE THIS, IF U POST A D WANT US TO SEE SOMETHING, THEN JUST POST It!!!!!! Not filled with ads and faux stuff.

  28. How big are the pieces of fabric? I didn’t understand that!!!

  29. Thrift stores carry the backing in 12″x48″ length. To use as a rug, I would cut it in half and overlap a little. You could also make 1′ squares and whip stitch together.

I have never been able to see what she is making ,it will show what you see here and then other things pop up and I can’t get it back

  31. I may try making a pillow I will use yarn

  33. Wonder what happens when you wash it

  34. There is one that you make Mini Pom-poms an use an extra piece of yarn to tie it on. I thought this one looked like it would be quicker to make an could possibly wash it on a delicate cycle with cold or cool water.I have washed the none slip mats in the washer an it worked ok.(when money was to tight)

  35. There’s a Steve Current in SW Ohio.

  36. I tried the under furniture and under my furniture covers. Neither worked for me. Maybe I have to many people using my living room. Lol
