Killim patterns are those you see in the Turkish pillows and rugs. This designer was inspired by a particular Killim pillow she had just gotten and wanted to see the pattern blown up on the wall.
She envisioned it in a watercolor look so she took her paint and mixed some water in it for an imperfect finish, then she sketched out the lines on the wall (no taping to ensure it would look hand-done) and then went over it with the brush.
Incredible!
Sometimes it takes a designer to grant the courage to do it but this is easy enough for anyone to do! It may take a bit to get the sketch right but who cares? Get it right, then paint it and it’s yours to enjoy!
Have you ever done a whole wall in a bold print? How did it look?
Thank you so much to thewhitebuffalostylingco for sharing this tutorial and pics on their site!
