Have you ever heard of florist tape? This is a tool that all the pros use but there is no reason why you cannot have a roll in your own home.
Here is how to use it:
1. Fill your vase with water
2. Make sure the rim of the vase is completely dry.
3. Put the tape across the top of your vase in a grid pattern. Like so:

4. Also put another strip all along the top edge.
5. Trim all the tape off the top edge of the vase with a sharp knife.
6. Cut the stems of your flowers at an angle so that they absorb maximum water.
7. Place your flowers in the vase one at a time, evenly spaced among the tape grid.

You should be very pleased with your results!!

Thank you to the geniuses at apartmenttherapy for this wonderful tip and beautiful photos! I’m so glad I learned this today! Are you? Please tell us if this helps you!!

Another trick, especially with thick stems, is to push wire up through stem, that way you can bend or position flower any way you like, and it will stay!
