She started with this $3 chair:

She removed the ugly plastic cushion, sanded it down, and painted.

Since the chair was already old and distressed, she took a sanding block and sanded down a few areas to give it a shabby chic look. Then, she personalized the chair by using acrylic paint and stencils to add the year she married her husband on the back.

Such a cute surprise on the back!

Finally, she recovered the cushion with the same fabric on her ironing board and voila!

This is a GREAT chair!!

When you see how easy this is and how much money you can save, it’s really a no-brainer, right? I think I’ll end off on trying to find the right chairs on-line and head over to my local Good Will this week instead.
