It's WISE to DIY: Thrify Ideas for the Do-It-Yourselfer

She Is Stapling LEATHER To This Ikea Dresser And I Am In LOVE With This Detail!

She started with a RAST dresser.  This is a perfectly fine dresser as it is, but clearly just waiting for its night at the ball.

She assembled the whole dresser except for the drawers fronts, gave it a good sanding and then she spray painted it white.

The drawers had pre-drilled holes for the knobs so those holes were used as guidelines to use a router to make a straight line from one hole to the other.  (The drawer front needed to be elevated so that the router could get all the way through.)

Dowels were wrapped in leather, pulled through the slits and stapled to the inside of the drawer.

The final product is literally unrecognizable!

Keep in mind this dresser costs $35 at Ikea!!  Unbelievable!
