If you have a special place that you like to throw your stuff when you walk in the door, then you know how cluttered those spots can become. First it’s just the keys and wallet, then it’s the sunglasses, the gum, spare change, coupons and who knows what else.
It’s great to have a shelf near the door to place your keys and wallet on but what if the shelf had a secret compartment that opened so easily and held all of the other odds and ends?
The trick to this DIY is the PIANO HINGE. This cool hinge will allow for the whole bottom of the shelf to drop down and reveal a storage compartment.
The shelf will hold all your stuff inside..
…and still look amazing and simple when it is closed.
