Keeping ice packs on hand in our home is so important.  We seem to use them for all kinds of things.  Even yesterday, my daughter had a cut on her knee when she got home from school and an ice pack on it was all she needed to stay cool.  (No pun intended.)

You can actually make your own ice packs by adding some rubbing alcohol and dish soap to the water so that it never freezes solid.

Letting your kids help on this one is a great idea.  They will really enjoy having their own ice pack that they designed.
