I wish I had found this recipe about 10 days ago before I ordered about $30 of ingredients for my kid’s birthday cakes.
This cake is so fun to make, so spectacular to serve and totally delicious to eat.

You can cover the whole thing with additional frosting, which in my opinion, makes a better presentation, especially when you slice it up. Why kill the surprise?
