It's WISE to DIY: Thrify Ideas for the Do-It-Yourselfer

Mason Jar Hanging Candles In Minutes!

I LOVE mason jars.  They make the coolest drinking glasses, they are amazing for keeping my green smoothies fresh in the fridge (and even in the freezer as long as you don’t fill them to the top), pickling, storing food, they make a great presentation for giving cookies or other baked goods as gifts…I could go on.  Have you seen my post on using them to make wedding floral arrangements?

Needless to say, I keep them on hand and scoop up more when I find them on sale at craft and hobby stores.

This hanging mason jar candle is yet another super-cool craft that can easily be made with mason jars.  Although they are very inexpensive to make, they are rustic and chic and add so much more to an outdoor setting than just tea lights.  Plus, the wind won’t blow them out.

Here is what you will need:

  • mason jar (any size)
  • 22 gauge wire
  • pliers
  • small gravel
  • tea candles
